The Head!!

So we had a client come in and tell us that her husband has always wanted a bronze sculpture of his head. The price for that was a little outrageous, so she settled on his head made out of cake and painted bronze. The cake was about a 18 inches tall!

We started by carving the head out of two round cakes stacked on top of each other.

Then we covered the cake in fondant.

We added some facial features, such as the eyeballs, hair and ears.

Finally we painted the head Gold. The party guests loved it and took lots of
pics with the head! The head was a red velvet cake filled with chocolate
ganache and blackberry buttercream. Don't you love going to a party
where your friend's head ends up being dessert? :-D

Engagement Cake!!

Last Week we made a cake for the engagement ceremony of Mona and Zulfi at the Belmont Country Club. The cake was a 3 tier round and square cake covered in buttercream with Blue buttercream dots going up the side of the cake. The dots got lighter as they went up the cake. The cake had a blue hydrangea cake topper made from sugar paste.

The cake is as good as it looks! It was filled with different flavors! The 10 inch cake was a white cake with Passionfruit and Blackberry Buttercream, 8 inch was a white cake with Orange and Lemon Buttercream, and the 6 inch cake was a white cake with Lemon and Raspberry Buttercream.

Here are some pics of the cake and the beautiful couple cutting the cake...More pictures from the ceremony are featured in the Saturday Post. Check them out at http://www.thesaturdaypost.com/pr_159_mzengagement.htm.

Congratulations to Mona and Zulfi!! Thanks for making Fluffy Thoughts part of your special day!
